Study Book's/Note Taking 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi, is there any books you recommend for A+. I have been reading CompTIA A+ Complete Study Guide ( Deluxe Edition ) which i passed my essentials exam 601 few months ago, I am now studying for the 602 exam but having problems taking notes. When i read a chapter, I tend to go off track and start writing a hole page, I don't know what i should be taking note of, I'm very bad in taking notes. Any recommendations on this field would be great, thank you.

I had the same problem with the 200-602 exam; it's a VERY broad exam that asks for details about every aspect of computing. These A+ certifications are some of the most comprehensive that I've ever had to take!

Along with all of my other materials, I use three or four A+ books when doing research for my training course. One that I keep coming back to is:

Mike Meyer's A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide

It's written with a great "voice," and the content is some of the best that you'll find in any technical book, A+ certification or otherwise. Mike has a great knack for taking very technical topics and explaining them in real-world terms that anyone can understand.

Hi, James
Thanks for the Info. you are right about using few A+ books instead of only using one. I need to look at other resources as well as a good book. Thanks for the link I will check it out, cheers.

I am just under half way through the Mike Meyers book right now. Not only is the content very good but it is written in a way that makes it very enjoyable to read.

I haven't taken the exam myself yet, but while studying I go by the policy of "If what you read doesn't obviously make since at first glance, write it down"

This way when I go back over my notes, yes its mainly the highlighted area's of the book, but I do skip the stuff I'm already strong in.

I even write down some notes or what appears to be non-essential information if I'm not familiar with it, because you can never be too cautious!
