Order of A+ Videos 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Prof,

This is an excellent resource for people, I have just had a look around.
I thought that it might be worth mentioning that if all the videos were in order from the first module going through to the last one just like in the course it would be really beneficial.

Keep up the great work, I'll certainly be telling people about it.

Best Regards and Thankyou.

David

David -

Thanks for the feedback. Putting together a modular CompTIA A+ training course created a number of challenges during the initial planning process, and the largest problem was figuring out the order for the videos.

All four of the CompTIA A+ exams are different, and not all of the exam objective pages are in the same order of appearance. The problem is complicated by some exams completely omitting entire subject areas!

In the end, I chose a design that looks a lot like a book. Each subject matter area is encapsulated together. If you're looking for information on CPUs, backups, soft skills, or any other topic, it will all be arranged in a single modular area.

As the video modules are created, the main index page will be organized into these subject areas, and this should help a lot with locating videos by topic.

Keep the feedback coming!

Hello David,

If the order of the videos is an issue, try this. Some time back, I made HTML documents of the CompTIA A+ Objectives, then inserted hypertext links into the documents leading to related resources. I'm now doing the same with the Professor Messer video series.

For example:

8.0 Communication and Professionalism

8.1 Use good communication skills including listening and tact / discretion, when communicating with customers and colleagues

The link above leads to the following video:

The Human Component: Communication (10:42)
220-601, Section 8.1

Granted, it's a little extra work, but it makes a great cross-reference between the objectives and the videos.

Have a little fun with it,
Bill

Hi Brother Bill,

That's a fantastic idea, I appreciate the feedback,I love to see that people are out there that really do care about other people.
If there is anything that I can do for you I certainly will, I'm a newbie to the industry so there won't be much for a while though, thanks again Brother Bill.

Best Regards

Hey, no problem David. I suppose you could just save them to your favorites and sort them accordingly. That may even be a little easier to implement. At the time, I was trying to teach myself the basics of HTML and it made for good practice.

If your studying A plus at the moment, you'll also find a nice study guide for the Essentials exam at Study Notes.

Pleasure meeting you,
Bill

Hi Brother Bill,

I certainly appreciate the conversation, there is that much out there it's hard to know where to start.
I presume that you have been around for a while and know where to go to find the good resources.Between Prof Messer, Pro Profs and Study Notes they seem to have enough resources to be able to help us.
Are these the main sites that you use out there?
What are you going for and how long have you been studying for, you seem to know alot about things.
What types of materials are you using to get you through?

Feel free to not answer these,I certainly would understand.

Thanks again Brother Bill and great to meet you to.

Best Regards.

Dave
