It does get a little tricky at first, but the Web is great for locating resources.
ProProfs is indeed one of my favorite sites. The resources available there are fantastic. They offer a free blog, and a member edited wiki. WebSchool and QuizSchool are contributed resource databases with keyword and search features.
Professor has made an enormous contribution to the available resources online with this site. I've just recently found it, but it works especially well for me. I sometimes have a short attention span, so I tend to listen better than I read.
I had an issue at first with the Study Notes site. I signed up with them, but even after several attempts as well as notifying them of the issue, could never access the account. Even still, I find it a great piece of work and a fantastic resource.
Watch out for any of the sites that support braindump material. The material offered won't help and could cause you to lose any certification you hold. If you're unsure of a site offering practice exams, check them against the database at
CertGuard to be safe. ProProfs is a safe source of practice material.
And you'll find that Uncle Google can be your best friend. I'd get to know him real well. You can search for other resources, repair issues, or the latest developments in the industry. There's countless resources out there waiting to be found. Not all of them are on the first 5 pages.
For your Aplus, you'll have to take two exams. You can get a copy of the
Essentials 220-601 Exam Objectives from CompTIA. Make sure you understand every one of them and research any you don't. A couple of text books could be worth their weight in gold. Maybe one smaller study guide and a larger reference edition.
If you've got an old computer laying around that you can take apart and play with, dig it out. Or maybe your neighbor has one, or the thrift store, just look around a bit. It's a big plus to be able to take these thing apart, study the parts up close and from every angle, then put them back together.
And finally, before you drift off to sleep, if you have any questions, there are the forums. You'll find there are a lot of people willing to help. Look around a bit if you need, you'll probably find that you're more comfortable with some than others.
Hope I've helped some.
