 Continuing education (ce)
Has anybody here registered for the Continuing education program and care to share idea's on ways to earn your points? I'm about to register myself and would like to make it a regular discussion, if anybody is interested.

 Re: Continuing education (ce)
Sounds like a good idea... However, there are several pages of informationon the comptia site which detail what are valid activities for gathering point.
the unfortunate side of it is the documentation requirement. To validate claims for points, the require documentation - thats a good thing, unfortunately the reality of human nature is the peril of "Stolen Valor" (as the military calls it), when someone claims credit for things they didn't do.
What makes it difficult is the process of what to send to document seminars or classes you attend.Attendance for classes, work credit units can be ?? problematic?? ... too. You are asking public or private teachers, presenters to go out of their way - if the process were easier (like possibly sending a copy of email confirmation of class scheduled and the corresponding confirmation which states you completed the class or thanking you for your attendance... if that were enough... you could easily send documentation with assurance it would be received and applied - without a bunch of apprehension.
Check the "Certification Chat" - that may already be a topic under discussion. Best Ican recall, I vaguely recall reading that Prossor Messer confirmation attendance/contributions in his online classes / chats.... at least I thought he mentioned that in one of his posts.
there is a schedule of points you can get for things like MCSE/MCSA, CCNA or advanced certiications- but exactly "How" to get them applied is not so clear.
Off the top of my head, these are a few options, thoughts on the subjec.
When in doubt - contact the source - comptia.

 Re: Continuing education (ce)
Thanks for the reply, I hear what your saying and I have read the faq that comptia publish on the matter, but in my eyes the guild lines are a little hazy, it states that any activity must be relevant and at the level of A+, such as attending seminar's, publishing papers, a blog, sitting other exams or even work experience etc, but thats as specific as it gets. I'm considering writing tutorials and instructional video's on hardware, binary for beginners etc, I'll write to comptia and let you know what advice they give.
