Post Display Resolutions
Do I have to know different resolution for LCD display, like XGA, UXGA, etc for A+ exams?

Yes you need to know the basic differences and native res for each.

I'm currently trying to memorize the display resolutions - any tips would surely help! I've got a few down, but get stuck on others.

Only thing I can offer is to reverse the process. I take the res first, then match to whichever type of screen. Other than that, try the wiki.

I made this generalization (I think (...hope) the chance that exeptions to these "rules" are asked for on the exam are not very big):

- with the letter W in the name, the aspect ratio is 16:9
- for "everything else" the aspect ratio is 4:3, exept for SXGA
(With this in mind, I only have to learn the width. In case it is asked, I can always calculate the heigth)
- only for resolutions without X in the name the width is lower than 1000

Well my monitor is 1920x1200 which is WUXGA and 16:10, so I don't think that methodology works. 1080p is 16:9

Yep, res first is what makes gaming.
