Hello There,

Last week i took both my 701&702 exams passing the first, failing the second. Not by much, 673/700.

Could any one please suggest any up to date relevant 702 cram sites / mock exams / flash cards?

A lot of the material i have found is out of date and irrelevant.

Although i did not too bad and am fairly confident a pass is on the cards on my retake i want to be extra sure, am desperate to pass so will be retaking in the next 10days and cannot afford, financially, to fail.

Any suggestions or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what material your've used or if you did any mock exams prior to doing the real thing, but my advice would be to see what areas you were weak on by checking out your score report. I believe it gives you a breakdown of the topics and a percentage. Focus on those areas but don't forget about the others.

Watch the Professor's videos, check out Mike Meyer's book and even buy his exams as they are the best for the A+ for practice.

The 701 module i found plenty of mock exams to go through and this was really useful, not so many on the 702 though and the ones i did find, to be honest werent incredibly similar to the actual exam.

I do have a breakdown which i will cover intensively and i will check out mike meyers exams.

Any other tips would be useful, especially if anyone has any cram pdf/word files which are up to date and relevant.

I finshed both exams with high marks using CompTIA A+ Cert Guide (Edition 2, author: Scott Muller). Used Professor Messer's videos and Meyer's special A+ related booklet about Windows 7.

Since the 702 exam was oriented towards troubleshooting, I went chapter-by-chapter and culled them references to common problems and how to fix them. I thought it worked well. I also heeded the advice of an old posting here to know the CompTIA steps to troubleshooting, which turned out to be very good advice.

As I've written from time to time in this forum, your library may have a subscription to Safarii e-books that you can use to reference their technical ebook collection. When you enter the Safari site, search on A+ and you can browse through the books and find one you like. If you get to liking a book, and don't like reading it on a monitor/Kindle/tablet, buy the hard cover.
