I have read the book in question, and feel like it maybe your best bet. I have taken the exam twice and on the second try (Which I will mention I was rushed to take because of my second chance voucher expiring) I was within a question of passing. I attribute my poor testing scores to my inexperience with Microsoft testing methods (Which by the way, are very tough). There just really isn't a single book that helps everyone prepare for this exam. Everyone I have talked to that have already passed the exam, say that they used multiple books and Labbed the thing to death. That is something that i did some of, but not enough so it seems.

On the Security+, I would do it before this exam. The only reason I say this is because of the time and effort I have spent on the 70-680 vs Security+. It took me 6 weeks to study and pass the Security+, compared to the last 5 months and counting I have spent on 70-680. CompTIA tests are way easier for me then Microsoft tests.
