My thought is to take both exams within a week of one another. For those who have passed both, do you think it makes any difference which exam ought to be taken first?

I get the impression that the 70-680 is a real tough nut to pass, and that the 70-685 is the easier of the two. The scope of the study material overlaps, although the 70-685 appears to be oriented towards troubleshooting problems.
