Re: How much luck have you had in jobs with A+ Certification?
Great Luck -
Hmmmm...where do i begin
Dec 28,2010 = A+ Certified
Jan 3,2011 = Hired as an A+ tutor by my school (Turned into Student Administration job)
Feb 14,2011 = Worked in a PC Repair Shop called Certified Techs (Only myself and the manager were actually A+ certified)
April 2011 = Did desktop relocation for Yahoo! in Burbank and Santa Monica,CA
May 2011 = Got hired to work on the Call of Duty ELITE project for Activision
November 11,2011 = Got a major break and got hired for a telecom company named Novatel Networks who are all CCNA certified+
I've learned more here in my new job in one month then i did in school in 1 year. It's crazy, everyone here are insane technical but nobody here is A+ certified except me so I bring that flavor to the table. I've had to use it a few times, like with RAID for servers,I had to convince the IT server installer to use RAID 5 over 1. Worked on my bosses messed up laptop, how to change the touchpad and dial pad buttons.
Overall, that A+ certification is an amazing tool, remind yourself it's the VERY BASIC level of IT certification, but I've been called upon many times for pc advice. MANY! When i worked in the PC repair shop, was my super glory, had to use the A+ certification daily and really study even after to keep up with the tasks at hand. Learned how to fix macbooks and the apple OS.
Don't even under-estimate the work that requires...it's gotten my foot into some key places...I worked for a video game company doing a major project where I was promoted to management, guess what i throw on the table when they asked me why I should be hired for the Senior position..my A+ card...
So don't give up and remember, that A+ isn't everything but it can be your key to the doors of employers.

Impressive story brother. Question, did you have any experience in the IT field before you got your Cert?

I had no prior experience in the IT field. It all started this year.
