Post MCSE exam
I was wondering if someone can help, I'm having issues getting prepped for my mcse. I want to start my studies but I was told its 4 exams, others are saying its 7, a school I called didn't know what numbers they were, and another school said to wait until sept for 2008. I'm lost :( can someone tell me what would be the best approach to study for it? Or should I wait until 2008?

How many test are there? What are the numbers? And what would be the best way to start? I was told to start from the lowest number........

If I take one test from the mcse pile does that mean I'm MCP?

Jester, why do you want to start a course in MCSE? Do you already know most of the content already and just want the cert to prove your skills? If not, don't bother.

If you check the Microsoft Learning website link below, You should notice that MCSE is no longer listed on there, and hasn't been for a long time now.

Instead, I would opt for aiming for one of the MCITP courses. These are the modern equivalent of the MCSE. A good idea would be to choose which path you would like to follow and then start at the bottom of that path which usually starts with an MCTS cert. Rather than enroll on some training course which will allegedly take you through to the MCITP cert, and cost thousands of dollars, just concentrate on one bit at a time. Once you have an MCTS, go on to the next bit.
