Just after anyone's thoughts about whether or not it's worth spending time learning Windows server 8 when it is released (beta version already released). I have no idea when Microsoft will provide official MCTS and MCITP exams for the new OS after it's release, but I can imagine it will be a long while before companies switch over to it anyway.

But do you think it's worth getting to know the new OS as soon as it's released to get "ahead of the pack", even though the knowledge might not be much use until companies start using it?

My first thought: software products rarely instantaneously change to something unrecognizable and revolutionary -- in spite of how the marketing people promote it. So concentrating on Windows Server 2008 R2 at this moment in time should be fine. If one wishes some early exposure to the "latest and greatest" in Windows 8, then all the best to them. Over time Server 2008 will become outdated relic ... oops, I meant to say "legacy software."
