Where’s the network?

What wireless network configuration can hide an access point from a network discovery process?

A) MAC address filtering

B) WPA encryption

C) SSID broadcasting

D) Wireless channel and frequency

E) The Potter invisibility cloak

The answer: C) SSID broadcasting

The Service Set Identifier broadcast is used to advertise the network to wireless workstations. If you disable the broadcast, the wireless network becomes “invisible” to other devices. With the broadcast disabled, you must manually configure devices to identify and connect to the wireless network.
