		<description>hi, the fsb is the processors connection with memory  and the rest of the system so yes its speed is an important factor when selecting a motherboard. As for your second question, the BIOS is generally ready to go on modern motherboards so you generally wont need to touch anything unless you have problems. hope this helps.

I had built my computer 5 years ago, and I had the most unheard-of parts at the time...but now they aren&#039;t so good.
I decided I needed to upgrade my computer again, so I wanted to ask if the processor&#039;s performance would be effected by the FSB in any way.

Also, I couldn&#039;t recall if the BIOS on a new boxed motherboard came pre-configured or not. Is this the case?
