All the pins

You’re working on a motherboard that has a port on the back with nine male pins. What type of port is this?

A) Parallel

B) Serial

C) USB

D) FireWire

E) That’s the Internet port. The entire Internet lives in that port.

The answer: B) Serial

Most serial ports are 9-pin male ports in a DE sized connector. Many people refer to the ports as DB-9, but the correct port size is actually called a DE-9. The larger DB connector is commonly used with the older DB-25 serial connector, which consists of 25 male pins in a wider connector.
