Which of these battery types can handle a deep discharge but is relatively expensive and difficult to find these days?

A) NiMH

B) NiCd

C) Auto-switching

D) Li-ion

E) Carbon

F) Just add more batteries, I could use the exercise

The answer: B) NiCd

Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) batteries were used with early laptop computers, but the NiCd technology is rarely seen today. NiCd batteries were able to recharge themselves even with deep discharges, but the batteries were relatively large, heavy, and expensive when compared to the newer Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) or Lithium Ion (Li-ion) batteries.
