A) Memory that is only used in virtual machines

B) A section of the hard drive that behaves similar to physical memory

C) Memory that is not seen by the operating system

D) Memory that does not contain executable programs

E) Memory that requires the use of 3D glasses

The answer: B) A section of the hard drive that behaves similar to physical memory

Virtual memory in Windows is commonly used when physical memory is at a premium. Applications and libraries that are running but not in use can be paged out to space on the hard drive. When the application is active again, the data is moved from virtual memory on the drive into physical RAM.
