Spin around three times and connect to the network

Which of these methods can be used on a wireless network to hide IP addresses?

A) WPA2 encryption

B) Disable DHCP

C) Filter access by MAC address

D) Disable the SSID broadcast

E) Use a blindfold

The answer: A) WPA2 encryption

The only way to keep your information private on a wireless network is to enable encryption. Disabling DHCP would prevent automatic IP addressing, but the IP addresses would still be visible on a packet capture. Filtering MAC addresses would prevent user access to the network, but it does nothing for privacy. SSID suppression would restrict the view of the network on a list of networks, but any packet captures would display all of the network traffic.
