Which of these describes inkjet printing?

Which of these options would be the most accurate description of inkjet printing?

A) Low cost per page

B) Quiet

C) Fast printing speeds

D) Good for multiple copies

The answer: B) Quiet

An inkjet printer is great for office areas because of its relatively low noise compared to other printing methods. Because the process of putting the ink onto the paper is nearly silent, the only sounds that usually come from an inkjet printers are those of the mechanics of the print head moving back and forth across the paper.

The incorrect answers:

A) Low cost per page
Inkjet printer ink is notoriously expensive, making inkjet printers relatively expensive when compared to other common printer types such as laser printers.

C) Fast printing speeds
An inkjet printer can produce sharp copies, but the process of spraying a sheet of paper with ink can be time consuming. Large print jobs are usually best left to high-speed laser printers.

D) Good for multiple copies
Impact printers such as dot-matrix printers can handle multiple copies in one pass, but inkjet printers don’t have a way to enjoy the same efficiencies. If you want more than one copy on an inkjet printer, you’ll need to print the page twice.
