Which RAID type is redundant and efficient?

Which of these RAID types not only provides a high level of availability, but also allows efficient access to data when a failure occurs?

A) RAID 0

B) RAID 1

C) RAID 5

D) RAID 55

E) ULDUAR

The answer: B) RAID 1

RAID 1, or mirroring, provides complete duplication across physical drives. Although this requires twice as much space to store data, the retrieval of the data during a failure doesn’t require any additional parity calculations.
