You’re going in circles

You’ve been tasked with upgrading your organization’s five hundred Windows XP systems to Windows 7. What can MAP do to help you with this process?

A) Scan, inventory, and determine the upgrade readiness for all of the Windows XP computers

B) Create an automated script for unattended OS installations

C) Migrate a Windows XP registry to a Windows 7 registry

D) Backup user profiles for use after the upgrade is complete

E) Delay pulling over and asking for directions

The answer: A) Scan, inventory, and determine the upgrade readiness for all of the Windows XP computers

The Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) tookit is an integrated console that can help you with large-scale upgrade assessments. The MAP doesn’t perform the upgrades, but it will integrate with Active Directory, scan the network, and inventory your systems. After this agent-less inventory is complete, MAP will then provide reports showing which systems are Windows 7 Ready, and which systems cannot be upgraded.
