    Yup. Read the mobo documentation. At work I installed a DDR2-533 DIMM in a computer and had very random memory failures while running memtest86+. Long story short, the mobo docs said that the minimum speed was 667 and that you can have problems with anything slower than 667. I installed the proper speed DIMM and it worked fine.
